Jeff Bezos-Backed Prometheus Hits a $41 Billion Valuation for Industrial AI

By AI SaaS Radar Team · Aug 2026 · 4 min read

Prometheus, an industrial-AI startup backed by Jeff Bezos and led by former Google researcher Vik Bajaj, closed a $12 billion Series B on June 11, 2026, at a $41 billion valuation. Total funding has now passed $18 billion in roughly seven months, starting from a $6.2 billion launch round.

The company's focus is narrower than the "physical AI" label might suggest. Prometheus isn't building robots. It's building AI applications aimed specifically at engineering and manufacturing work, the kind of design, simulation, and production-line problems that don't show up in a chatbot demo but account for a large share of how physical products actually get made.

The speed of the raise is the more striking number than the valuation itself. Going from a $6.2 billion launch round to $18 billion in total funding in seven months puts Prometheus in the same fundraising tempo as the largest generative AI labs, but for a company selling into a category, industrial and manufacturing software, that has historically raised and grown far more slowly than consumer or developer-facing AI.

That tempo is itself a signal. Investors are treating "physical AI" for engineering and manufacturing as a distinct, fundable category now, separate from both the software-only AI labs and the humanoid-robotics startups that have dominated headlines. Whether Prometheus's actual product traction justifies a $41 billion mark this early is the thing to watch as more detail on customers and revenue becomes public.
