Amazon Is Retiring Four Nova Models to Fund a New Frontier Project

Amazon is winding down four of its flagship in-house Nova AI models, Nova Premier, Nova Omni, Nova Reel, and Nova Canvas, with end-of-life dates staggered between September 14 and September 30, 2026, according to reporting from late July 2026.

The resources freed up are reportedly being redirected toward a new frontier model research project led by Pieter Abbeel, expected to debut at AWS's re:Invent conference.
